Supporting Employees

  • If an employee is experiencing emotional distress or mental health difficulties, encourage them to make an appointment with their GP. We understand this can be difficult; National Mind's 'Find the Words Campaign' has great advice and downloadable resources to support. They can also try 'doc ready' app.
  • If your employee would like to access talking therapies, they can refer themselves to the Primary Care Mental Health and IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service in Leeds. Therapies on offer include guided self-help, stress and mood management, one-to-one cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other psychotherapeutic approaches. Call 0113 843 4388 (lines are open 8.30am – 4.00pm, Mon–Fri)
  • A peer support service is offered by Leeds Mind specifically for people who are in employment. Courses include Being Well at Work; a 10-week programme focused on enabling people to improve their wellness at work. Contact the WorkPlace Leeds Peer Support Team on 0113 230 2631
