Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

This Mental Health Awareness Week our Mindful Employer Coordinator was busy delivering workshops on the 10 Steps Toolkit to local Charter Signatories to engage staff in the process of creating mentally healthy workplace.

Here is some feedback from those Mindful Employers:

Lowell Financial Ltd.

“Martha visited Lowell to host a Ten Steps Toolkit session with our wellbeing champions from across the business as part of Mental Health Awareness Week. This session re-focused their minds and the group came up with lots of brilliant new ideas to include in our ongoing wellbeing strategy. The feedback from them was great and they all went away feeling enthusiastic about getting involved in some new initiatives.”

Laura Wilson, Senior ER Advisor

Age Partnership

“Signing the Mindful Employer charter has been instrumental in kick starting various activities around mental wellbeing. Looking forward to Mental Health Awareness week, we knew we wanted to mark the occasion and Martha came in to deliver the workshop on the 10 step tool kit to a range of our line managers. This was greatly received and was a great exercise in understanding what we are doing and what activities we need to concentrate on in the second half of 2019. It was a great way of reflecting on what we have achieved so far but also opening the conversation up to our colleagues to have the opportunity to input has been really beneficial. Our focus in the coming months will be looking to provide policies and guidance for wellbeing at work, standardise our internal signposting to support networks and looking to create Mental Health First Aiders in the business

“The 10 Steps Toolkit workshop delivered by Martha Clowes from Leeds Mind was well organised, well-structured and ran for just the right amount of time. We found it to be a positive and impactful session which really helped us to understand what we are currently doing well as an employer, but also where we need to make improvements. Everyone who attended the session found it really valuable, and the feedback we’ve had so far has been extremely positive with people feeling assured and confident that we are making good progress in introducing some robust procedures to support employees with their mental wellbeing.”

Lizzie Lewington, International SEO Strategy Manager

Enable Therapy Services

“The team found the workshop very informative and a positive experience – it provided an invaluable opportunity for us to all sit down together and discuss what we are already doing well and to put forward new ideas about what improvements could be made, as well as introducing us to the wealth of resources that are available. Thank you again for coming to see us!”
